The municipalities of Reykjav\u00edk, Mosfellsb\u00e6r, Seltjarnarnes, K\u00f3pavogur, Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, and Gar\u00f0ab\u00e6r, which jointly operate the capital region’s ski areas, signed an agreement on May 7, 2018, to undertake renovations of the ski areas in the coming years. <\/div>\n

According to the agreement, three chairlifts in Bl\u00e1fj\u00f6ll will be renewed and installed, and the chairlift in Sk\u00e1lafell will be renovated. Furthermore, snow-making equipment will be installed in both Bl\u00e1fj\u00f6ll and Sk\u00e1lafell. Alongside these projects, continued development of the cross-country skiing area and improved facilities for cross-country skiers will be undertaken. <\/div>\n

        Cross-Country Ski Trails<\/h2>\n
